What it is
A real AI fitness coach, inside ChatGPT
Pelaris is an AI fitness coach that builds and continuously adapts one hybrid training plan across strength and endurance. The plugin puts that coach inside ChatGPT through 31 live tools, 13 that read your training and 18 that change it, over the open Model Context Protocol.
That is the difference worth understanding. Most fitness answers in a chat window are written from scratch every time, with no memory of what you actually did. A ChatGPT fitness coach connected to Pelaris is reading your enrolled program, your logged sets, your benchmarks, and your recent load, then writing changes back to the same program you open in the app tomorrow morning.
Same coaching engine, same privacy scrubber, same program. Just reached from the conversation you already have open.
It plans
Generate a full program or a single week, periodised across lifting, running, cycling, swimming, and sport. Quality-scored before it reaches you.
It logs
Describe a session in plain language and it writes the sets, reps, weights, and notes to your history, with automatic PR detection.
It adapts
Sore, travelling, short on time, or flying. Say so and the remaining sessions reshape around it, with every write confirmed by you first.

How to install the Pelaris plugin in ChatGPT
About two minutes, no API keys and no config files. If you want OpenAI’s own reference, read OpenAI’s plugin guide.
Open the ChatGPT Plugin Directory
In ChatGPT, open the Plugin Directory from the sidebar or from Settings. It is where every connected app and plugin lives.
Search for “Pelaris”
Type Pelaris into the directory search and pick it from the results.
Connect your Pelaris account
Sign in with your Pelaris account and approve the scopes you want to grant. Creating an account is free if you do not have one yet.
Start coaching
Ask for your session, log a workout, or have your week rebuilt. Your ChatGPT fitness coach is now reading and writing your real program.
The link opens in ChatGPT and needs you signed in there.
What you can ask
Things people actually ask their AI fitness coach
Every one of these runs a real tool against your account, then tells you what it did.
“Plan my week around a Saturday parkrun.”
Builds the week so the hard lifting lands away from race day.
“Log yesterday’s session, 5x5 back squat at 100kg.”
Writes the sets to your history with PR detection.
“Why is today easy?”
Explains the reasoning behind the session you were given.
“Swap tonight’s lift for a run, I am short on time.”
Modifies the planned session and keeps the week coherent.
“How is my squat trending?”
Reads your benchmarks and logged history, not a guess.
“I tweaked my calf on Tuesday, adjust the rest of the week.”
Records the niggle and reshapes the remaining sessions around it.
“What are my current benchmarks?”
Pulls your personal records and baselines straight from your profile.
“Build me a 12 week block for a half marathon and a heavier deadlift.”
Generates a real, quality-scored hybrid program and enrols you in it.
The full tool list, read and write, is on the integrations page.
The program on the other end of the conversation
When you ask for a block in ChatGPT, this is what gets built: periodised phases, real progression, and a plan you can open in the app the moment it lands.
The honest read
Where a general answer stops, and your coach starts
Ask ChatGPT on its own for a training plan and you will get something genuinely useful: a sensible structure, sound principles, a decent week. General-purpose models are good at this, and we say so.
What that answer cannot do is remember. It does not know you missed Thursday, that your last three squat sessions all sat at RPE 9, that your calf has been grumbling since the weekend, or that the plan it wrote you last month is already two weeks behind. Every conversation starts from zero, so every plan is generic by construction.
The plugin closes that loop. ChatGPT keeps the conversation, Pelaris keeps the program, your history, and the coaching logic that reads them. We wrote about the gap in detail in what general-purpose AI gets wrong about your training plan.
If you are coming from a pure logging app, the same idea applies to your set history. Our Hevy alternative page covers that comparison honestly.
Also works with Claude. Pelaris speaks the open Model Context Protocol, so the same 31 tools are available in Claude and any other MCP client. See every integration.
